Rock of the Marne Triathlon
Sept. 7, Savannah. I can at least say I did one race this year. Amazingly enough, I did alright with approximately zero training. It is a lot harder to carry 215 through a race than it is 195, but that's what you get after quitting running and no diet changes.
So. Results are in.
Time 1:21:58.1 75 of 159 overall, 6 of 16 in my age group.
Swim time 10:32.4, 43 overall
Bike time 43:22.6, 18.7 mph avg, 73 overall
Run time 28:03.1, 9:03 pace, 113 overall (ouch)
So it's pretty obvious which discipline I need lots more practice at. But an overall respectable performance, and honestly I went down to Savannah to socialize with my friends, and get some exercise as a bonus. So that was a complete success.
This race is highly recommended. Do it next year.
